Mercury sign Monique Billings to seven-day contract
The Phoenix Mercury announced their signing of a new player after they waived guard Celeste Taylor.

The Phoenix Mercury have signed forward Monique Billings to a seven-day contract.
Billings, 28, played 24 games for the Dallas Wings this season, averaging a career-best 8.8 points, to go along with 6.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists while shooting 47.5% from the field.
The former two-time All-Pac-12 player who was picked with the No. 15 overall pick in the 2018 WNBA Draft is someone who can immediately help the Mercury’s rebounding. Behind 6-foot-9 Brittney Griner, who is averaging 6.4 rebounds per game, Phoenix has relied on Natasha Mack and some of its guards to gang rebound.
Billings at 6-foot-4 is someone who can immediately help the Mercury both ways.
Billings started 12 games with the Wings and has five double-doubles this season.
Billings will put the Mercury at 11 players after they waived guard Celeste Taylor.
