Phoenix Mercury forward Bec Allen to miss postseason with back injury
Allen has not appeared in a game for the Phoenix Mercury since July 16. She missed the 2024 Paris Olympics with a right hamstring injury.

Phoenix Mercury forward Bec Allen will miss the entire WNBA postseason with a back injury, the team announced on Saturday.
“Mercury forward Rebecca Allen underwent successful surgery to address a lingering back injury this week,” the statement read.
Allen, who will begin her rehabilitation process next week, “is expected to make a full recovery,” according to the Mercury.
Allen is one of the team’s best connectors on offense and defense.
Allen started all 18 games she appeared in this season, averaging 7.4 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists. She shot 41.7% from the field and 35.2% from three.
The Mercury, who are the No. 7 seed in the postseason, will play the second-seeded Minnesota Lynx in the first round of the playoffs. Game 1 will be on Sunday at Target Center at 2 p.m.
