The league’s all-time leading scorer Diana Taurasi and nine-time WNBA All-Star Brittney Griner are back for their 20th and 11th season with the Mercury, respectively.
Key offseason acquisitions to the roster include 2021 WNBA Finals MVP Kahleah Copper, 2022 WNBA assists leader Natasha Cloud and veteran guard/forward Bec Allen.
Sophie Cunningham is returning for her sixth season in Phoenix while Liz Dixon and Sug Sutton are also returning after playing with the Mercury last season.
Morgan Bertsch and Mikiah “Kiki” Herbert Harrigan will round out the roster for first-year head coach Nate Tibbetts and first-year general manager Nick U’Ren.
Phoenix waived each of their 2024 draft picks, Jaz Shelley and Charisma Osborne, on Saturday.
The team also waived guards Amy Atwell, Air Hearn and Christyn Williams, center Bella Murekatete and forward Mya Hollingshed.
Monday was the deadline for teams to finalize their 12-player rosters.
The Mercury’s roster is at 11 players. WNBA teams may carry 12 players at maximum and 11 players at minimum.
Phoenix will begin its season against the Las Vegas Aces on Tuesday at 7 p.m. PT at Michelob ULTRA Arena.
