Valley Suns announce 14-man roster selected in G League expansion draft
The Phoenix Valley Suns will debut in the 2024-25 NBA G League season as the final team included in the association.
The Phoenix Valley Suns have announced their 14-man roster selected in the 2024-25 G League Expansion Draft.
The Valley Suns, who will begin their first season in 2024 at Arizona State University’s Mullett Arena, have selected former NBA first-round picks Emmanuel Mudiay, Jahlil Okafor and Denzel Valentine, among 11 others.
The roster will also include Theo Maledon, who was a two-way player for the Suns in the 2023-24 season before he was released March 4.
The “Valley Suns” are the G League’s 30th and final team added to the league.
“The Valley Suns is the community’s team and will provide fans an energetic and family-friendly atmosphere while developing aspiring talent on and off the court,” said Phoenix Suns, Mercury and Valley Suns CEO Josh Bartelstein in a statement. “We’re excited to launch the new G League team with a name and identity chosen by our fans and inspired by the unique desert landscape that we call home.”
Added general manager of the Mullett Arena, Amber Musgrave: “We are excited for Mullett Arena to be the home of the Valley Suns. We are dedicated to creating memorable experiences for the community and look forward to extending the ‘Mullet Magic’ beyond our Sun Devil Athletic events, concerts, comedy and family shows to now include the Valley Suns.”
The Valley Suns’ schedule is yet to be released.
