Video/quotes: Suns' Bradley Beal on left knee injury
Beal went down in overtime, but said his X-rays were negative
PHOENIX — Here is some of what Phoenix Suns guard Bradley Beal said after his team’s 127-118 loss to the Sacramento Kings on Sunday.
On what made him fight through his injury and play the remaining overtime period:
“Adrenaline, just going.
“I felt like if I could just put some pressure on it, I was good. First, I couldn’t.
“Didn’t feel the greatest, but it’s only three minutes.”
On how his knee felt:
“It’s a little sore, but X-rays were negative, which is, I think, the best thing I can ask for. So probably just a bad bruise or something.
“It was my knee.”
On what needs to be done with Kevin Durant (left calf strain) out for at least two weeks:
“Our aggression on the offensive end. We got to go.
“I think sometimes, we get a little stagnant and the ball’s sticking way too much. You don’t got [Durant] out there. So we got to go, be aggressive, keep that ball moving, body someone. When we do that, we’re really hard to stop.”
On Devin Booker playing through an illness:
“He may be seeing and feeling it internally. But it’s hard to judge that. He’s always going to be himself, he’s always going to be aggressive. He’s always going to be a leader, he’s always going to be Book. So I don’t see him struggling or trying to do anything. If he is, he’s doing a hell of a job just getting himself going. Just staying aggressive, staying mentally aggressive, encouraging his teammates, everything in his nature.”
On Tyus Jones:
“It was awesome. I think he made a lot of big shots for us. Good pace-maker for us, keeps us organized. Defensively he’s a pest. We love him. I love him to death. I’m happy we have him.”
